Founded in the year 1983, by Kulapati Dr. K. M. Munshi, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan has grown from humble beginnings in the pre-independent India to an all India intellectual, cultural and educational movement. Today it is incessantly endeavouring to imbibe fundamental Indian values of life and reintegrate with the new elements suited to modern conditions.
This goal is being accomplished and through over 200 constituent institutions and departments and thousands of voluntary members spread throughout India and 101 institutes abroad. On the educational initiatives, Bhavan has established institutions – schools and colleges – on its own and in association with other organizations.
The conferment of the prestigious ‘Communal Harmony & National Integration Award’ for the year 1999 and the ‘Gandhi Peace Prize’ for the year 2002 by the Government of India speak volumes of Bhavan’s commitment to its cause. Bhavan has been recognized as ‘Educational Institution of National Eminence by the Government of India.
Towards management education, Bhavan’s commitment is deep. Four institutions are the initiatives in this direction, training hundreds of manager-aspirants. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan now moots the international dimension to its management education initiative in association with Marshall University.
